Memory & Mythos is Peter Marcos’ first compilation of writing that follows the ghost of time from Ancient Rome to the modern heart through 42 poems and a short story.
Memory & Mythos is a beautifully designed full colour book that tells a tale through original poetry, a short story, and illustration. The work was driven by Peter Marcos' passion for history and the human heart, particularly "His Sunlit Profile", a short historical romance fiction written for the work that follows a day in the life of two familiar but different men somewhere near the outskirts of Ancient Rome.
The compilation of poems pulls from many years of poetry written at times deliberately, and others spontaneously. The book is guided and organized by central themes of time and timelessness, Ancient Rome and romantic love, and nature from the small and everyday, to the grand and cosmic.
Original illustrations and design work were provided by Logan Salter, who worked closely with the author in the creation of the book and the joining of their two artistic worlds.
